The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards were broadcast live from Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Vita Motus Design Studio held production design, with founder Heather Shaw serving as the first female lead production designer in the show's history.
An awards broadcast puts two audiences on one set. The room has to read at arena scale while every camera position stays clean through a run of performances and set changes cut live to air.
